Recent Criminal Law Results in the Detroit Area:
- People vs. Client A: Oakland County Circuit Court. Client was charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct 4th Degree and was accused of grabbing the alleged victims genitals. A conviction would have resulted in client being placed on the Michigan Sex Offender List. The Jury returned with a Not Guilty verdict.
- People vs. Client B: Southfield District Court. Client was charged with Domestic Violence for an alleged assault on his wife. Client and wife were in the middle of a divorce and living in the same household. Wife claimed that the client hit her while she was laying on her couch. The Jury returned with a Not Guilty verdict.
- People vs. Client C: Washtenaw Circuit Court. Client was charged with Unlawfully Driving Away Of A Motor Vehicle and Malicious Destruction of Property. The charge of Unlawfully Driving Away Of A Motor Vehicle was dismissed after preliminary exam. A motion to dismiss the Felony charge was later granted in Circuit Court.
- People vs. Client D: Oakland County Circuit Court. Client was charged with possession of a concealed weapon for possession of a taser gun. Client was 22 years old with no priors. The prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case.
- People vs. Client E: Southfield District Court: Client was charged with Domestic Violence and Interfering with a Telecommunications Device. Girlfriend claimed that the client attacked her and took her phone away when she attempted to call 911. The Jury returned with a Not Guilty verdict.
- People vs. Client J: Client was charged with Assault With Attempt To Commit Robbery While Unarmed. The original court appointed attorney told the client to waive his preliminary examination and plead guilty, which would have exposed the client to prison time. Attorney Graff held a preliminary examination. After the preliminary examination the prosecutor agreed to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor assault and a plea was entered wtih probation and time served.
